Best Baby Products of 2019
By Pam of High Heels High Chairs
I hate to be one of those stereotypical toddler moms, but I have to say a million times over how much I can’t believe that Sebastian is already a one-year-old. It has been the most incredible and emotional roller coaster ride of my life, and I am so thankful that I found so many different tips, tricks, and goodies that really made our lives, during this first year, a whole lot easier— and I can’t wait to share those with you today! Below are some of my absolute favorite products!
(Some of the products listed are paid sponsorships and 100% my own reviews and opinions.)
Swaddles
I’m pretty sure there’s a cardinal parenting rule that says that there’s no such thing as too many swaddles. And thankfully, they have always come in handy. Sebastian hated to be swaddled up when he was a newborn, but now loves a good blankey! Thomas and I are both huge college football fans— so when we received these gorgeous muslin swaddle blankets from Three Little Anchors, we were in love! The blankets can be ordered in almost any college football team, and are perfect for just about anything. We’ve used it for picnics, bedtime, naps, and even cleaning up messes! They hold up amazing in the wash and are Sebastian first go-to grab right out of clean laundry basket.
Baby Monitor
Who’s with me here? I know that baby monitors can be one of the most daunting and most researched baby products as a first-time parent. I can’t even begin to tell you how many Amazon reviews, personal recommendations and research that went into finding a baby camera that worked best for us.
Out of all of the different features that baby cameras have, the most important to us was a camera that could monitor and sense his motions and breathing. Before looking into over 10 different cameras, we didn’t know that even existed! Guess what, it sure does!
For a while, we were using and loving the CocoonCam. We fell in love with all of its features but were still searching for one with a little more— that’s when we found SmartBeat. With its state-of-the-art heart and breathing monitor and innovative phone app, it’s so easy to check on Sebastian from anywhere in the house, right on our phones. The app alerts you when the baby is falling asleep, crying, moving around, or if it senses that the baby’s breathing has slowed down. It’s truly amazing! This is definitely a win for us, and a must for baby number two! You just cannot put a price on peace of mind.

FridaBaby Everything
Seriously. Any mama out there will tell you that one of the absolute baby must-haves is the Nose Frida! It was my first introduction to the FridaBaby line—then I fell in love with everything else. If you haven’t tried their aloe nose wipes, they are lifesavers! Organic and all-natural aloe, in a soft baby wipes type tissue, that is sensitive on their skins and perfect for when you are out and about!
There’s seriously nothing more disgusting than the thought of suctioning your babies boogers, but isn’t that the ultimate #MomLife? This line of baby products will always be on my baby registries, and a go to for baby shower gifts.
Diapers
Ah. Diapers. Who else remembers being pregnant, as a first-time parent, and stocking up on every single kind of diaper brand out there. The funny thing about kids is, they’re also different! Diapers are definitely one of those things that can vary so drastically from child to child. However, it was so important for me to know that any type of material that goes on a baby’s booty 24 hours a day, seven days a week — needed to be the safest and most comfortable option possible for him.
I have to say, we definitely lucked out in the diaper category. Sebastian has never had any issues switching diaper brands, but that didn’t mean that I didn’t want the best possible for his skin.
I was so excited when I came across the Nest Diapers brand!
Finding one of the first diaper companies with compostable, hypoallergenic, and ultra-absorbent organic diapers has been a godsend— and if you know anything about my rambunctious little toddler, you know that he has always been a consistent full nights sleeper. What does that mean for us? A diaper that’s super ultra-absorbent and can withstand 10 or 12 hours— is a must in our house— and I can’t deny how proud I am that companies like Nest are building a better future for our environment and our children!
Dock A Tot
I don’t think I’ll ever forget how excited I was when I came across this interesting contraption while I was pregnant. I was that mom who wanted everything to be absolutely perfect while at the same time having zero expectations of parenthood and was willing to just see how everything went! I had so many people give me mixed reviews about the Dock A Tot, but I could not be more grateful that we took the plunge and made the investment.
I knew from very early on after bringing Sebastian home, that I was not comfortable whatsoever bed-sharing with a tiny little 6-pound human. I just knew it wasn’t in our wheelhouse. Our Dock was the one thing that made sleeping near Sebastian, and keeping him safe, most comfortable for us— not to mention how easy it was to travel with it, have a safe space for baby to nap while visiting family and friends, and was super convenient during the hustle and bustle of the holidays with a newborn. Now that he’s grown out of the Grande— it’s being stored and anxiously waiting to be used by his little brother or sister!
Travel Stroller System
There wasn’t room for negotiation with this one! Although we researched several different types of travel stroller systems, I knew I wanted one that was lightweight, convenient, and could withstand being dinged and thrown around for the next couple of years! We were super happy that we went with the Baby Jogger Travel City Mini System— that’s conveniently sold on Amazon!
Spectra Breast Pump
Hello! — a lifesaver for a mama who hated breastfeeding! Sebastian was about 3.5 months old when I decided to go full-time pumping. Deciding on a pump prior to having an actual baby, as a first-time mom, seems like one of the most impossible things to do. So I did what we all do — I asked my mom group!
So glad they didn’t let me down. We voted time after time about which breast pumps were the best, and the Spectra always came in first place hands-down. In comparison to the Madela pump— The spectra reviews overwhelmingly mentioned that it was a lot more gentle on your breast, quieter, and more powerful. I trusted my Internet friends, and my gut, and ordered the Spectra 2 (available under insurance). I was not disappointed!
Bath Toys
It got sweeter and sweeter as Sebastian grew, to watch him explore and play with toys during bath time. Anything from rubber boats to squeezable elephants—made it so easy for him to enjoy getting cleaned up! Some of our favorite bath toys came straight from our friends at Nuby!
That’s all for now, my friends! What a whirlwind of a year with this little man, and I’ve loved every moment of it! Drop a comment below, and let me know what some of your favorite baby must-haves are!
XO,
Pam
